What is your club history/philosophy?
Bay Area Volleyball Club (BAVC) is a community based volleyball organization established in 2012 which provides a place for players of all ages and levels to develop their volleyball skills. Our primary goal is to build character and develop sportsmanship among players. Additionally, by providing solid instruction and creating a competitive atmosphere BAVC strives to provide each player the opportunity to reach their complete potential as a volleyball player and become the best athlete they can be.
Having been involved in Bay Area athletics for the past two decades, we believe there is an opportunity to improve the overall club experience for players, parents, and coaches. We understand the importance that sports plays in the life of a student athlete and will strive to ensure that all participants have a positive experience even as they are challenged to achieve their potential as players. From the parent’s perspective, we understand that we are being put in a position of influence and trust with your son or daughter and take that responsibility seriously. From a coach’s perspective, we understand that this is a passion for you, that you are doing this because you love the sport of volleyball, and you will bring your own set of experiences. We also believe in helping others and with that in mind will donate a portion of each player’s club fees to the Wounded Warrior Project.
How long is the club season?
The club volleyball season is divided into the boys season and the girls season.
Boys Season: Tryouts are in August and the regular season runs from September to December.
Girls Season: Tryouts are in November and the regular season runs from January to June.
We also hold summer clinics in June, July, and August.
Girls Club Questions:
We plan to have teams for 12, 13 and 14 (U14s), 15 and 16 (U16s), 17 and 18 (U18s) year olds. We may have more than one team per age grouping if needed. In most cases we will have Power League and Premier League teams in all age groups
Teams will be grouped by age and skill level. We will try to limit the players on each team to 12 so as to maximize instruction and playing time for each player but still allow for scrimmages during practice to simulate match like circumstances.
Girls Season Registration for upcoming 2015-2016 season ranges from $900 to $2,900 depending on the team - See Girls Season Information Page under the Girls Club Tab for per team cost and payment plans.
All participants at tryouts must bring a valid NCVA Membership Card, BAVC Player Information Sheet, and USAV Medical Form. Links to the necessary forms can be found on our Documents Page.
BAVC is based out of our own state of the art facility located in Concord, CA. Teams will typically practice twice per week for 2 hours depending on age group. BAVC also offers skills specific clinics during the pre-season after tryouts and before regular practices start.
